Christmas and 3 month birthday all at the same time. Avery was actually sleeping while we were opening presents. It was all too overwhelming for her, so many presents and all, so she needed a nap. My point is, there are no pictures of her actually opening anything. So here are some pictures of her in her christmas dress from Grandma Ollig as well as some of her 3 month pictures.
The color on this on isn't so great. I tried to fix it but didn't have much luck. We ended up looking more like robots...which wouldn't be all bad I guess.
I did the math wrong,(I know, weird huh) I thought this was Avery at 14 weeks but shes only 13 weeks. Oh well, I guess we just get to do week 14 twice!
This is one of my favorites. Her hair really looks red in these photo's too.
and of coarse...
We do things, take pictures of them, then put them here for you to see.

11 Weeks and a Tree
So we finally got the tree up and everyone is excited. Especially baby's that like to stare at lights and cats that like to smack hangy, jingly things. So we are officially part of the holiday season now.
Aside from all that, if anyone ever has considered trying to tear their thumbnail off with a football don't bother, It's no fun and it doesn't work very well. That's all I will say about that. Except for the fact that I threw TWO touchdown passes AFTER the incident!
Erin finished up the annual holiday newsletter tonight and it's a mighty fine one. So if we have your mailing address then you might just be lucky enough to get one in the next few weeks. If not, we lost your address...yeah, that's the ticket.
That's about it for the wordy part of this post. Time for the pictures. Enjoy.

A Visit North
Now that we're home we are getting back into the routine. Erin's leave is about up so we're gearing up for Avery's first trip to the "Manny's" (Cap'n Steve). I think everyone is very excited to get started with "things" again. Even though some of us complain a little about having to go back to work I think some of us are also ready to go back.
Here are some of the people we visited while we were there.
Avery loved meeting her Great Grandma.
And Grandma and her had a lot to talk about.
Ok so there are a lot of other people that she met while we were there but the pictures of them are on our other camera. So you'll just have to wait to see those. In the mean time Ill just post a few fun pics of the little lady.
First, the Kansas division of "Team Ollig"
Here is someone a few hours after her first round of shots. No fun, that's for sure.
Just a cute face.
And lets just say...I had nothin to do with this!

3 Weeks Old
Here is her 3 week picture. With a bit of strategic propping she is able to sit up on her own.
Apparently she already has a taste for Old Navy and Gap cloths...I think I'm in trouble.
Everyone here is doing great. One more week of vacation for me and then we'll see how good I am at multitasking with work and baby. Grandma Ollig is coming to visit on Thursday and Avery is very excited to meet her. I know I know, she can't talk yet. I'm not crazy, thinking my three week old daughter is talking to me. ...She typed it on the computer.

2 Weeks and Sniffling
Well we're coming up on the three week birthday. I can't wait, I love cake. Of coarse she can't eat solid food yet so Erin and I have to eat it all but what are you gonna do...?
Anyways, she didn't waste any time getting her first cold. It's been a little over a week so she's about all done with it. Still a few boogers here and there but feeling much better I'd say. In case you were wondering, it's not much fun for a two week old to have a cold. The nose is a lot smaller but the snot is the same size. But she's lots better now.
Here's the two week picture. Not quite filling this outfit yet but she's working on it.
--ok this dumb site wont let me upload pictures today so I guess it'll have to wait.--

I met This guy today!
So I was standing in my shop today with our Rec coordinator, going over a few final details for this weekends wedding event. And I don't use the word "event" loosely! By far our largest wedding to date. They have told us that they are expecting 600 people and have spent $50,000! Perhaps that may not seem like a lot to pay for a wedding to some but...it IS!
What was I saying again? Oh yeah, I was standing in my shop and this old grey haired fella came walking up to talk to us. Very nice, polite guy. I shook his hand as he told me his name and that's when I saw "it"! THE ring that any true blooded vikings fan cringes at the sight of. The one with the big fat IV on it! And there he was, flaunting it in my face, knowing very well that I was from Minnesota! What a jerk! I could go into a hobbit reference here and talk about feeling the urge to throw "the ring" off the rim of the Edgerton volcano into a bubbling pool of lava...But I'm not THAT big of a geek so I wont.
Ok I'm just kidding, he was a nice old man. I guess he was just driving by and saw the park and had to stop and see what we were all about. He sure wasn't modest about his accomplishments...but I guess if I had one of them things I'd be going to the 7-11 just to show it to people.
So, like I said we have a Ginormous wedding this weekend. So far they have been one of the easiest going groups we've had. I just hope it stays that way.
Just in case there is anyone reading this just to see if we had the baby yet, I'll tell you in a minute......... ok I'm kidding, no baby yet. She's still kickin like crazy. I think she's running out of room in there so maybe it'll motivate her to come on time. I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
As for the "mento's challenge" that has been a source of endless seconds of entertainment for a few of the Ollig boys... Hold tight, my entry into the competition is coming soon. Prepare to be outdone!

For all of you who have been asking.
I know there are a lot of you that don't live in Kansas that have been asking to see pictures of Erin's belly. In a normal situation that might seem a little weird. Considering the circumstances though I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
This first on is out near the bean field. If you look close I think you can see Lucy poopin in the background. And I know you all want to see that.
Here is another out by the beans.
Now here are a few in the nursery. All that's left to do is a little decorating....Finally!
Next to the crib.
And one for good measure.
Well there you go. Erin has been really disapointed that her belly button hasn't popped out yet. No really, I'm not kidding. When it does I've told her we can have a coming out party. I'll try to take some pictures if that ever happens. I'm sure it'll be something to see.

I'm older people now.
So I guess I better post something on here before I forget how.
Just in case you were wonderin, YES it is hot here.
You may have noticed that I am not using any abbreviations anymore. Well, for those of you who use mozilla you may have the same problem. Every time I try to use an apostrophe it clicks to this stupid search thing and takes my cursor away from the page. How annoying. I am surprised it did not click away when I typed out apostrophe. Stupid digital age.
Maybe my battery is just running out in my wireless keyboard. I guess I shouldn't rush to judgment......Did you just see that? I snuck one in. I win!
So in other news: In case any of you that fall into the lower to middle class haven't been convinced that it is a really bad idea for you to vote republican yet here's a nice little bit of tid for you. Congress just voted down a proposal to increase minimum wage. That's almost 10 years! Have any of you gone 10 years without a raise??? Well, if you're a member of congress you've barely gone 1 year. Yes, they gave themselves a raise after voting down the minimum wage increase! $28,000 worth.
Pluckers! (you guys really didn't think I was going to swear did you?)
Pardon my non english to all the younger folk here reading this but I can't help it.
If you youngsters get anything out of this, just remember one thing. Get a job in congress, it pays better than taco bell.
Now that I'm 31 I can refer to anyone under 25 as a youngster. It's in the rule book, look it up.
I guess my punctuation started working again.

Cross Country Journey to Kalamazoo
So we took a little trip the other weekend to a cousins wedding and here's a few things we saw along the way. It turned out to be quite an adventure when it was all said and done. (At least for a person who lives in rural Kansas it could be considered an adventure).
First of all, we got to drive the new car. Which I might mention I still have not named. I am leaning towards Erics suggestion(Stella), but I can't for the life of me remember where that movie quote is from. And now some silly pixar cartoon is spoofing it just to taunt me. Can anyone help me out here? The point is, it's always an adventure getting to break in a new car on a road trip rather than just the daily drive to work.
So it turns out that if it weren't for Chicago, Illinois would(and probably still does anyways) win the award for the most worthless state in the union. Seriously they probably give out cartons of cigarettes to newborn babies at the hospitals there. But the fact that everyone in that state seems to smoke everypalce you go is besides the point. If it wasn't for the occasional tree and walmart distribution hub on the side of the road there would be nothing to look at.
Then there is Chicago. I think the people that work for the transportation department must have a little bet going or something..."Let's see which one of us can screw up traffic the most with construction". Let me help them decide on a winner. I say it's the one that decided to take all the other peoples construction projects and route them ALL together into ONE friggin lane. I lost count at 12...someone decided it was a good idea to merge 12 plus lanes of traffic into one over a 2 mile stretch. AND THEN, send that one lane through a friggin toll booth! Charging every last car 65 friggin cents to sit in traffic for another hour! Genius.
One thing I did learn, I like metal girder bridges(and there are lots of them).
I also learned that they make miniature lighthouses... Who knew?
We did finally make it to Kalamazoo. The first thing we learned is that their chamber of commerce pays its emloyees too much if all they can come up with is to put "zoo" at the end of everything in the city as a promotional tool. Air-zoo, Nature-zoo, Laundromat-zoo...ok the chamber prolly didnt have much to do with that last one.
We did have a reason for going to Kalamazoo afterall...A wedding-zoo.
Congrats to the Zellers's.
Of coarse there are lots of other things to do in Kalamazoo as well. Like visiting this one of a kind "red roof with plants on it".
Erin has a thing for green roofs. Speaking of things Erin has a thing for...Chocolate fountains. Quickly becoming a staple of the wedding circuit it's quite a tasty treat. And they fool you into thinking it's healthy by letting you dip fruit into it. Ok so perhaps it's one of them weird cravings people keep talking about pregnant people getting, but Erin enjoyed the chocolate fountain. (I did too, but I was holding the camera).
Ok, what else did I learn on this trip...Well, kids would rather eat candy than throw it at people. I give her credit, it didn't take her long to realize the absurdity of trying to throw candy at people when they surely would get more in their mouths if they just put it there themselves.
Last but not least, we almost got killed by a tornado. We thought we'd outsmart the weather on the way home by stopping early for the night and just relaxing in the hotel, going out for a nice meal, and watching a fun movie. Ok, so none of those things worked out too swell... First of all, the town we stopped in was apparently hit by a small tornado not an hour after we stopped. (the ONE town in Illinois that we choose to stop at to be "safe" is the one that gets the storm. Illinois hates us.) Secondly, small towns in the middle of nowhere don't usually have many places to eat, so that part of the plan didn't work to well either. But at least we did get to relax in the hotel for the night...So the plan sort of worked.
Here's the beginning of the tornado that almost got us.
But when it was all said and done, it was a fun trip.
Now I must go do things.

Is it a Boy or Girl?
Well, Erin and I officially have added a new member to the family. We actually need your help with something. We can't tell if it's a boy or girl? What do you guys think???
Here are a few Pics to help you decide.
Oh, sorry Steve, "The 3" was a close second!
And in case you're wondering...That's Erin in the car not Vanna White. I tried to get her to do the Whitesnake sprawl on the hood but she didn't go for it. She said, without the white flowing dress it just wouldn't be the same.
