A Visit From PA

Erin's step brother and family were in town a few weeks ago from Pennsylvania so the cousins got to spend some QT together at Waids. As you can tell from the photos, they had a fantastic time.

At Last

So we finally gave up on figuring out what happened to the camera cord. I'm sure we will find it a year or so from now stuffed into a drawer or a couch somewhere. Avery was probably using it to finish up that light saber she was building. Worthy cause I guess.

We ended up buying a very nice memory card reader so I think we are all set
to go again. Lucky you.

Here are a few pictures from story time.

Good ol' Strawberry Shortcake.
"No mom, this story never gets old. It's only like the 428th time,
we're just getting warmed up. And yes I noticed that you skipped a page."

Who needs a napkin when you have Lucy to lick the ice cream off your face.

Fillin up the pool.

Avery's teaching me a new riff. She has dreams of rock stardom for her papa.

Update

If anyone has seen a Sony camera/computer hook-up thing please let me know. This blog may be a little short on pictures until I find it. I think I have a few on my desktop to add just to keep you going for a while. I'll let you know when I find it. Our camera is bursting with photos that need to be dumped.

Here are a few other pictures from our trip up north.

The Chosen one!

Let all the Sci-Fi geeks bow down to their new leader. The chosen one has been revealed.

(I have edited this copy so that my identity can not be you know what. I like my identity to be mine, not someone elses.)

So as you might have noticed, I found something interesting on my birth certificate last weekend. I was quite surprised when I saw my birth number. I really have no idea what exactly a "birth number" is but at this point I don't care.

For those of you who don't know what I am referring to, just never you mind. You'd just roll your eyes if you found out. Just let me revel in my geekness for a little while.

Planting Trees

I am sure that most of you know that my mom has been a teacher for many years. Over 40 to be more exact. This year she has decided to start her much deserved retirement. Well, she is still working her other job but she had officially retired from teaching.
We wanted to do a little something for her to celebrate this accomplishment so we decided to give her something that every teacher loves to get, an apple. (Well, an apple tree anyways). Hopefully there will eventually be apples as well. Congratulations mom, happy retirement. You deserve it!

Then Avery did a little earth worm wrangling after we planted the trees.

And finally, an "Only in Minnesota" item. We went to watch the parade celebrating the Alexandria fire departments 125th year and saw a little something that you can only see in Minnesota.
A snow plow in a parade in June.
