After the Blizzard

Well we survived the blizzard! It's cold and sunny today and very beautiful. We ended up having 13.5 inches here but it was hard to tell since the snow was blowing around.

Chris and Avery got out it early to shovel.

Here is our pile before we were done. Someone got too cold to stay out long enough to get a picture with the pile at the end. Also, for Janine...this is the pile by the garage. The snow plow pile is about 6-12 inches higher.

On a side note, Griffin decided to give dad's arms a break yesterday. Still working on holding it still for very long...but it's a start.

Kids

First thing, Erin thought she saw something familiar when going through pictures of Griffin. This is each of them at 17 weeks. Only Griffin is about twice as big.

Pretty funny.

Here are a few pictures from the last snow day we had. Just got the call about 20 minutes ago that we have yet another snow day tomorrow. It's been hard to get rolling at school this semester but I guess I shouldn't complain.

Didn't get a picture of the sweet snow fort Avery and I built but I must say, it was pretty nice.

Winter break

My first winter break in about 17 years. I'd say this first picture about sums up how it felt.

Griffin loves his new glow seahorse. Must be the result of some cloning or cross breeding experiment or something. Glow worm crossed with a pony I think. Either way, Griffin likes it.

We were just talking about the vikings season.

Hmm, and it's even got one of those things... I wonder...

The first pony tail ever...in the whole world.

The "whole family" decided to plant some tulip bulbs since we had a nice 60 degree day.

Busy times

Well with the holidays, illnesses, computer viruses and the like- we've been too busy to get on here and share pictures. Griffin is now driving and Avery just went off to college...ok, it hasn't been that long.

This past weekend was our extended family Christmas party. Avery actually sat on Santa's lap this year. As you can see from the pictures, she was still very cautious. A shout out to Grandma Elley for the beautiful Hello Kitty party dress too. Avery is on her second cold in 6 weeks, broken up only by the stomach flu. She was a little whiney that night.





Griffin just had a good time being held by Grandma Elley.




In other Griffin news, he and Gwen have become close friends.



And Chris had fun making Christmas cookies called "curoivie" (pronounced kuh-rah-vee)- a recipe from Grandma Emma.
